In Todays’ Order, Qahwaji: LA to Face any Division Attempt

Lebanese Army [LA] Commander Jean Qahwaji stressed Monday "the Lebanese military institution's commitment to the well-known national principles."
In today's order on the occasion of the 69th Independence Day, Qahwaji vowed that "the LA will defend all what the 22nd of November [Lebanese Independence Day] symbolizes."
"We will firmly confront any attempt to undermine the principles enshrined in the constitution," he added.
In parallel, the head of the military institution confirmed that "the LA adding that the army would confront any internal conflict that would trespass democratic bounds.
"The army will protect the right of every Lebanese to have a decent life under the rule of law," he said, and assured that "it will preserve the nation and democracy."
Qahwahi further assured that "the military institution will be against any side that contradicts coexistence that all Lebanese have agreed on."
Meanwhile, he pledged that "the army will also face any attempt to divide and segment the country or nationalize the Palestinian refugees in Lebanon."
"We will protect the freedoms of all who respect the basics and meaning of this concept," the LA's commander added.
Moreover, Qahwaji vowed to support all political sides that keep their political differences under the constitution's ceiling.
However, he iterated that "the LA will face any internal conflict that infringes on democracy along with protecting the right of every Lebanese to establish safety and dignity under the rule of law."
Addressing LA's troops on the 60 anniversary of Lebanon's Independence, the LA commander said: "The soldiers will respect the military institution and work strongly to safeguard Lebanon as a single land for all the Lebanese in a free and an independent nation."
