"Israeli" Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced Friday that the Zionist entity will halt its assault on the Gaza Strip during the visit of Egyptian PM Hisham Qandil.

In parallel, officials in Gaza said Qandil was due to cross into Gaza at around 10:00 am and meet with top officials in the ruling Hamas movement on a brief solidarity visit.
The premier will be accompanied by a number of aides to Egyptian President Mohamed Mursi, as well as by Health Minister Mohamed Mustafa Hamed, Cairo said on Thursday after confirming the surprise visit.

Ahead of the announcement, "Israeli" warplanes carried out multiple new air strikes on the Palestinian territory, the third day of its intensive campaign.
In details, "Israeli" war planes carried out multiple new air strikes on the Strip, including several hits on Gaza City on Friday morning.
"There have been 130 strikes overnight until now," Hamas interior ministry spokesman Islam Shahwan said, citing "scores of strikes" across Gaza on Friday morning.

He further added: "The strikes destroyed a building belonging to the interior ministry and used for administrative issues like passport renewals in the Gaza City neighborhood of Tel al-Hawa."
For his part, Hamas emergency services spokesman Adham Abu Selmiya said the martyrs' toll now stood at 19 Palestinians, several of them children, with a further 235 people injured.

Meanwhile, the "Israeli" army said it had carried out 466 air strikes since it launched "Operation Pillar of Cloud" on Wednesday afternoon with the targeted killing of Hamas commander Ahmed Jaabari.
"A total of 280 rockets have been fired at "Israel" from Gaza since Wednesday afternoon," the "Israeli" army confessed.
