Arab, Islamic Countries Slam “Israeli” Attacks on Gaza

Several Arab and Islamic counties slammed the vicious attacks "Israel" launched on the Gaza Strip on Wednesday.

Syria condemned "Israel's atrocities" in the Gaza Strip, where a series of air raids killed the Hamas military chief and at least nine other Palestinians. It called for action from the international community.
"The Syrian government condemns the heinous atrocities committed by the "Israeli" army against the Arab Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip," it said in a statement carried by the Syrian state-run news agency SANA.
The Syrian government urged the international community to "pressure "Israel" to stop the sinful aggression against the defiant Gazans."
"Despite the risks of aggression, Syria will always remain faithful to its national and historical duty to the Palestinian people to recover their stolen lands and establish a free Palestinian state with al-Quds [Jerusalem] as its capital," it said.

Also, following the "Israeli" air strikes that pounded targets in the coastal enclave, Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi condemned these deadly attacks. He demanded an immediate end to the "Israeli" airstrikes.
Egypt's Islamist Freedom and Justice Party (FJP), the political wing of Egypt's Muslim Brotherhood, also slammed the airstrikes against Gaza, assuring Cairo would no longer tolerate such attacks on Palestinians. They highlighted that the attacks by "Israel" required "swift Arab and international action to stop the massacres."

The FJP urged the Egyptian president to review all ties with "Israel", while Egypt's Health Ministry called on Morsi to annul all pacts with "Israel".
Moreover, Egypt's Foreign Minister Mohamed Kamel Amr condemned the attacks, warning "Israel" that an escalation in its violence would threaten regional stability.

Not only that, but also Egypt recalled its ambassador to "Israel" in protest over Tel Aviv's aggression on Gaza.
"Israel's" Ambassador to Cairo Yaakov Amitai left Egypt after President Morsi announced he was summoning him.

Earlier in the day, Egyptians held an anti-"Israeli" demonstration at Cairo's Tahrir Square, calling on the country to recall its ambassador from Tel Aviv following the deadly "Israeli" airstrikes.

Iran, for its part, condemned the attack on Gaza, considering "these attacks reflect the brutal nature of the Zionist entity."

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast censured "Israel's" aerial strikes due to which tens of Palestinians fell martyrs and injured.
Iran also condemned the International Community and the Human Rights organizations in particular, for their silence towards the Zionist entity's violence against the Palestinians.
The Iranian official measured that "their silence pushes the "Israelis" to go on with their crimes against humanity in Gaza."

As for the Tunisian Presidency, it issued a statement condemning the critical escalation in the Gaza Strip, noting that the unjustified "Israeli" assaults expose the entire regional to another explosion.
The Tunisian Presidency spokesperson indicated "this outrageous aggression came at a time when the Palestinian factions agreed on pacification, and after the "Israeli" prime minister claimed that his government was ready to resume peace negotiations with the Palestinians."

Palestinian Authority President Mahmous Abbas, also slammed "Israeli's" escalation in the strip and warned of its dangers, demanding an immediate ceasefire.

A statement issued by the authority clarified that Abbas has demanded the Arab League Secretary General Nabil Al-Arabi to hold an emergency meeting to discuss "Israeli's" outrageous aggression on Gaza.

On the backdrop of the Arab and Islamic fury, the Arab League announced that it will convene an emergency meeting of foreign ministers on Saturday to respond to the "Israeli" air strikes in Gaza.
According to AFP, the League's Deputy Chief Ahmed Ben Hilli said "the meeting will be convened on Saturday, based on requests from Egypt and Palestine."

Since 2007, the Gaza strip has been living under siege with a much declined living standard and in light of severe shortage in goods, medical supplies and goods, as well as increasing rates of unemployment and poverty.
