Areslan: No Comparison between Resistance and “Israel”

Head of the Lebanese Democratic Party MP Talal Areslan stated, "The campaign to oust the government aims at gaining power and not at increasing productivity,"
"We cannot stay in Lebanon without a clear definition of treason. In all countries, treason is treason, but in Lebanon, treason is relative, which threatens civil peace and national unity," Areslan said.
He added, "We only have one enemy; "Israel", and it is a shame to compare between the resistance and "Israel"."
""Israel" attempts to infiltrate Lebanon's scenes to strike it from the inside. Would it be right to blackmail the resistance by the "Israeli" army?" The MP accentuated.
Moreover, he stressed that the dialogue table must "ratify a defense strategy that would fortify Lebanon from "Israeli" aggressions."
"I don't claim this government to be ideal; it has many errors and slow functioning," Areslan confessed adding, "We have two choices; either accept this government and its flaws, or enter into a vacuum period." He stated that a government accepted by all would otherwise be the best solution.
Areslan deliberated that, "Lebanon does not face a governmental predicament, but a serious political system crisis," indicating that, "the whole political class admits to suffer a political system crisis, but no one dares to resolve this issue."
"The army remains the only public institution that was built after the Taif Agreement (Document of National Accord) in 1989," the official noted, underscoring that, "as long as the Lebanese balance is a sectarian one, all attempts in constructing a unified government would be in vain."
