"Israeli" occupation municipality bulldozers began excavations on Tuesday in al-Wad Road of al-Quds' (Jerusalem) old city.
Al-Quds (Jerusalem) municipality claimed that the excavations were among reconstruction and development projects for the road.
According to sources, the municipality's development department initiated this project, while Moriah Jerusalem Development Corporation, the executive assistant of municipality work in al-Quds (Jerusalem), sought to carry out this project.
The excavations extend from the Buraq Wall-Western Wall- of the old city, passing through Aqbat Al-Khaldiyyah to Damascus Gate. Moreover, the occupation municipality stated that excavations will be held from 7:00pm to 5:00am daily, without specifying the period for this workshop.
The Old City's inhabitants informed WAFA news agency that these excavations cause a state of panic among them, especially merchants and commercial store owners, in fear that their stores be closed due to construction work.
