Ahmadinejad Condoles Suleiman over al-Hassan Assassination

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad called on Tuesday his Lebanese counterpart Michel Suleiman to condole him over the assassination of the late Internal Security Information Branch head Wissam al-Hassan and other victims of the Ashrafiyeh blast.
Ahmadinejad condemned the crime and wished for stability and prosperity in Lebanon, as well as for the country's independence and sovereignty.
"Lebanon's enemies have targeted its security and unity," he said, and noted "The Iranian government and people condemn these inhuman practices, and declare their solidarity with the Lebanese people and government."
Moreover, the Iranian President praised the management and vigilance of Lebanon's president and political leaders, who prevented the implementation of the enemies' objectives and foiled their plots.
For his part, Suleiman thanked Ahmadinejad's call. He further clarified that the incident caused problems in Lebanon. "However, the government seeks, in cooperation with all Lebanese forces, to contain the repercussions and spread stability," he confirmed.
In parallel, the Lebanese president voiced hope that peace and tranquility spread in the entire region so that stability will prevail.
