Jumblatt: Not to Clash with any Party, Lebanon’s Interest on Top

The Head of the National Struggle Front MP Walid Jumblatt stressed Monday that he "does not want to clash with any other Lebanese party, whether the Future Movement or any other party."
In an interview with "as-Safir" Lebanese newspaper, Jumblatt confirmed: "We can't classify the debate with the blue movement as a clash."
Addressing the March 14 group, the MP stated: "provide consensus on a new government, and I am with you."
On March 14 bets on a turn in the US positions, Jumblatt said: "Lebanon's interest is on top of priorities."
Meanwhile, "as-Safir" quoted Jumblatt as saying "it's neither permissible to expose the country to risks of chaos nor to drag the army into the quagmire of vacuum in the political decision."
He further stressed that he isn't repositioning politically, and pointed out "It is true that the parliamentary elections will soon knock the doors and I have no ability to divorce the blue votes in Iqlim Kharoub."
"I don't desire to provoke the Sunni community in the Western Bekaa and Beirut. .. but I have the ability to devise a formula of compromise when needed," he concluded.
