Qabbani on al-Adha Refuses Toppling Premiership Through Street, Calls Lebanese To Unite

Mufti of the Lebanese Republic, Sheikh Mohammed Rashid Qabbani, following al- Adha Feast prayers Friday assured that the government is a ‘moral symbol' to all Lebanese, and firmly rejected toppling the cabinet or offending the Prime Minister through violence or protests.
At Mohammad Amine's Mosque in Down Town Beirut, large crowds arrived for al-Adha Feast sermon, with PM Najib Mikati being represented by Information Minister, Walid Daouk.
"Lebanon is a country of morals, peaceful democracy, and state institutions, henceforth, we cannot accept that the government be overthrown through street protests," stated the Mufti.
He underscored "Lebanon is built on a constitution of strong foundations which dictates that only the parliament could give or withhold this vote of confidence."
Qabbani urged the Lebanese to eliminate the seed of sectarianism in order for their children to have a better future free of strife.
Furthermore, Qabbani said Head of Intelligence Branch of the ISF General Wissam al-Hassan's assassination is an episode of a wicked conspiracy against Lebanon, with the only way out being unity among all Lebanese.
