Anxiety, Anger Governs "Israel" over Failure to Detect Ayoub

"Al-Akhbar" Lebanese newspaper stressed Wednesday that " the penetration of Ayoub drone into the Occupied Palestinian space depth reflects a catastrophic failure to the "Israeli" army."
It further mentioned that neither silence nor inversing facts are to undermine the level of this failure.
This, according to the newspaper is the essence of a report published Wednesday in Haaretz "Israeli" daily, that raised a series of questions about the reasons of failure, and the need to search for the missing gaps in the "Israeli" interception system.
"What ought to be most worrisome about the drone is the depiction of this failure as a success - the "Israeli" land and air forces are being praised for a superb performance, though no one is investigating or asking questions," it stated.
Commenting on the recent "Israeli" officials statements on the failure to detect Hizbullah drone, the paper highlighted that "When people start praising failures, it's time to worry."
"And that's exactly what happened a week and a half ago," it said , and noted that "Israeli" War Minister Ehud Barak praised the chief of staff and the air force commander for the "sharp, effective performance in which a drone was intercepted and shot down in the area south of al-Khalil."
Haaretz further slammed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who also praised the drone's interception.
Meanwhile, the analyst of strategic affairs in the newspaper, Reuven Pedatzur, viewed that "based on all professional standards, the drone's penetration constitutes a shameful failure to the "Israeli" army, especially that the aircraft flew more than two hours over the sea, and about half an hour over "Israel"."
As he shed light on some aspects of the "Israeli" failures in dealing with Hizbullah drone, the writer stated:
"Through its long way flight from Lebanon, over the Mediterranean Sea, to the coast adjacent to the Gaza Strip, the drone had not been exposed to any type of "Israeli" monitoring and warning systems."
"Not only did Hizbullah plane go unnoticed above "Israeli" navy but rather it flew over the gas exploration facilities," he added.
In parallel, the "Israeli" analyst cautioned that "those who are supposed to defend such facilities should realize that the sent plane could have carried explosives."
