"The northern border adjacent to the Large River separating between Lebanon and Syria witnessed a sophisticated security situation, as Syrian gunmen fired shots from inside the Lebanese territories in the direction of the Syrian front," it added.

In details, a number of armed Syrians entered the Lebanese territory, across al-Tren bridge, the west of Abboudieh-Dabbosieh, near the old center of the Lebanese General Security.

The militants attacked the Syrian army positions who responded to the fire sources. "Clashes continued until the evening hours," as-Safir reported.
In response, the Lebanese Army carried out wide security presence along the northern border from the town of Abboudieh to Hake Jenin town.
It also raided the sources of fire from the Lebanese side.

In parallel, villagers informed "as-Safir", that a number of Syrian militants deployed publicly, for the first time, near the General Security center during the day hours.
For its part, the Syrian army stationed inside its territories raised mounds along the borders with the Great River.
