Less than 24 hours after an "Israeli" airstrike on southern Gaza, Palestinians fired early Monday around 55 mortar shells at Southern "Israeli" Eshkol Regional Council.
Hamas and Islamic Jihad resistance groups announced that the shells came in response to the Zionist crimes.
"In response to the injury of civilians in the most recent strike on Rafah, the Qassam Brigades and the al-Quds Brigades fired a number of rockets at enemy military positions," Hamas's Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades armed wing said in a statement.
According to "Israeli" information, there were no reports of injuries, although one building was damaged.
The first shells were launched shortly after 6:00 am. Palestinians in the Gaza Strip fired at least three mortar shells which then exploded in the Zionist entity.
In response, "Israel" asked its settlers in Eshkol to remain in close proximity to shelters.
On Monday morning, Ashraf al-Qidra, spokesman for the Hamas health ministry in Gaza, said that tank shelling east of the Gaza city of Khan Yunis had injured three people, including one in a serious condition.
