Aoun Survives Assassination Attempt, Sayyed Nasrallah Contacted Him

The Secretary General of Hizbullah His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah contacted Saturday the Head of the Change and Reform bloc MP Michel Aoun to check on his health and congratulate him on surviving the assassination attempt.

Earlier in the day, Aoun survived an assassination attempt during his return from a tour in Southern Lebanese villages.

According to security information, a shot was fired at a vehicle belonging to one of Aoun's convoys during his return trip from Jezzine, South Lebanon.
For its part, Aoun's press office unveiled that "the convoy was attacked near Bahaaeddine Hariri mosque in Sidon."

Commenting on the incident, Interior Minister Marwan Charbel confirmed the mentioned information.
He further urged all sides to stick to investigations.
Hours later, the MP revealed that he had previously escaped three assassination attempts.

During a dinner for the Free Patriotic Movement held in Batroun, Aoun revealed that "this is the fourth one."
"However, we hadn't found the suspects yet," he said and noted that "the failure to kill him politically and morally was the reason behind the incident."
