Wide Lebanese Condemnation for US-“Israeli” Film against Islam
Responses to the anti-Islam film insulting the Holy Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) continued in Lebanon.
The film, produced by an "Israeli"-American realtor, adopted by an extremist US priest, funded by Zionist personalities, and promoted by Arabs of sedition was condemned by various Lebanese figures and parties.
This comes as calls for Muslims and Christians to unite as well as to stick to coexistence and national unity dominated the scene.
In this context, Lebanese President Michel Suleiman condemned Thursday the racist film that attacked Muslims and the Prophet.
He further viewed that "the bad film is a reflection of civilization's retreat and its effect on democracy."
For his part, the Higher Islamic Shia Council Deputy head Sheikh Abdel Amir Qabalan on condemned the film which mocked Islam and was produced in the United States.
"This cowardly act is an episode in a series of campaigns funded by the Zionist movement in order to harm the image of Islam and incite strife between Muslims and Christians," Qabalan said in his statement.
He also considered that "the best response to the campaigns against Islam would be to reinforce the ties and activate the channels of dialogue between Muslims and Christians."
In parallel, the Lebanese Mufti Sheikh Mohammed Rashid Qabbani Mufti Sheikh Mohammed Rashid Qabbani urged on Thursday the Lebanese people to unite in denouncing the film mocking Islam.
He also called the various Lebanese sides to ask the Lebanese authorities take all the necessary diplomatic action in the name of Muslims and Christians against the US, the incubator for the production of this movie.
"Muslims in Lebanon and there brother spread all over the globe have had enough of the repetitive attempts to insult the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh), the Islam and the noble Quran," he added.
Similarly, Mufti of Tripoli and the North Sheikh Malek al-Shaar, condemned the insulting film and expressed astonishment of its content against Islam and Prophet Mohammad.
Al-Shaar called Muslims to stick to wisdom, accusing a fifth column or what he described as evil hands of exploiting some of the events in order to create dissension and spread harms.
For its part, "the Islamic Unification Movement" denounced the above mentioned film produced by Americans and extremist Copts and funded by the Zionists.
The movement called for "an international law that criminalizes the abusers and the aggressors on Islamic symbols."
It pointed out that "an apology for such violations will not work after today," as it called for a Friday of Wrath made of popular protests to condemn the crimes of the criminals."
Moreover, the Union Party condemned the insulting of Islam and said, "We are not surprised that US-Zionist hatred offends the Prophet Mohammed, who was honored by Al-Mighty God to carry the flag of the Islamic guidance for the world." "Such actions intend to ignite religious discord in our countries as a prelude to spread divisions," its statement said.
For his part, the Secretary-General of the "Lebanese Arab Struggle Movement", former MP Faisal Al-Daoud, denounced the repeated abuse to the Muslim prophet Mohammed, who came into the world with a divine message, not to be distorted by films and cartoons."
