Aoun: Change in Syrian Regime May Destroy Lebanon

The Head of the "Change and Reform" Bloc MP Michel Aoun warned Friday that" a regime change in Syria may destroy us as well as Lebanon because the regime that will replace the current one will a have mentality that dates back to the 14th century."
"What is required is not to be negatively afraid of the development of events in Lebanon," Aoun said.
"Are Tunisia and Egypt examples of what we are aspiring to?" he asked
During a dinner for the "Free Patriotic Movement", he noted that "there is a balance of power that imposes political calm in Lebanon."
"We must maintain our national unity," he said and noted that "our work is to prevent Lebanon from dragging in labyrinths."
In parallel, Aoun attacked the Internal Security Forces, saying that "the Director-General of these forces, Major General Ashraf Rifi is acting unilaterally."
