Lebanon Chairs AL Ministerial Council
Lebanon heads Wednesday the 138 Arab League Ministerial Council for the coming six months.
Vice Kuwaiti Prime Minister, Foreign Minister Sabah Khaled Hamad as-Soubah handed the council's Presidency to his Lebanese counterpart, FM Adnan Mansour.
According to media information the coming session is set to discuss a series of important issues and mainly ways to resolve the Syrian crisis.
Several other important issues are on the session's agenda such as the Palestinian cause, ways to activate the Arab peace initiative, Arab solidarity with Lebanon and the occupied Golan Heights in Syria.
Meanwhile, Egyptian President Mohammad Mursi is scheduled to visit the Arab League headquarters to deliver a speech announcing the beginning of the 138th session.
For his part, Mansour is to deliver the presidency statement followed by AL Secretary General Nabil al-Arabi.
It is worth mentioning that Syria is absent from the council after the AL suspended the Syrian membership.
