Google and Apple Remove the Al-Manar Application

Google and Apple have removed the Al-Manar application it has provided.
The campaign came after a letter of the American pro-"Israel" «Anti-Defamation League» delivered to «Apple» company on July 25.
"Al-Manar represents the "media arm" of Hizbullah and the source of the anti-"Israel" and anti-U.S. propaganda that emits messages of hatred and violence," said the association director that Abraham Foxman.
In this context, Al-Manar website Manager Mohammad Salah told al-Intiqad website that the al-Manar application can no longer be downloaded on smartphones or iPhones, but only those who had already downloaded the application can use it. Salah assured that al-Manar will respond to this attack, adding "an alternative plan is being set to make sure the website can reach to the majority of the public opinion, and the website technical team will soon provide technical solutions for the problem."
The manager assured that "Israel" stands behind this step, stressing that al-Manar had followed all the rules and procedures of joining applications. He further mentioned that not only the application gives the user the access to know latest news posted the possibility of follow it up directly on the «Google Play», but also provided it on «Apple». Before being stopped Tuesday night, about 3500 users had uploaded the application within 48 hours.
Salah reminded that al-Manar twitter page was also attacked seven times so far, not to mention the creation of a forged al-Manar page on social networking websites to disseminate false news and mislead the public opinion.
Al-Manar station has been put on the list of terrorist organizations in December 2004, and faced imposed restrictions on its broadcast via satellites in Europe.
