Saad: al-Assir Phenomenon Part of Conspiracy against Lebanese People, Resistance

Head of the Nasserite Popular Organization, Osama Saad, said the people of Sidon were able on Wednesday to eventually defeat the five-week sit-in of Sheikh Ahmad al-Assir with its overt and hidden objectives.
In a press conference congratulating the people of Sidon on the end of al-Assir's protest, Saad assured that this phenomenon is part of a conspiracy against the Lebanese people and the Resistance. "We are in the middle of an ongoing confrontation with hegemonic powers that aim at spreading chaos in Lebanon and threaten its stability. He further called on the government to fulfill its duties related to all the files particularly that of North Lebanon.
Saad pointed fingers at the March 14 camp, stating it has stood behind and supported al-Assir and provided a cover to his movement. He addressed the people to continue countering the sectarian projects which he depicted as suicidal.
