SSNP: February 14 and its media outlets are responsible for Sunday protests

The Syrian Socialist National Party condemned the violence against "youth demonstrating over livelihood issues," and called for an immediate and serious investigation to uncover those responsible for firing on the protesters.
The party also accused February 14 of being responsible for yesterday's incidents by raising tension through its statements. "This reflects their intention to drive Lebanon into destruction," the party said in a statement.
The party had repeatedly spoken of February 14's "joint operation room" where events such as yesterday's are conceived.
"Yesterday's clashes are the result of a decision taken by this operation room, which is run by foreign intelligence services in order to terrorize the opposition."
The statement also slammed February 14's media outlets for fabricating information and falsifying news. "How could they claim that yesterday's demonstrators were armed, while people were shooting in the air during the funeral of ISF Intelligence Services Officer Major Wissam Eid?" the statement read.
It also accused the security services of providing a cover for the "militia of death."
"A massacre similar to the one that happened yesterday should drive the government to resign and set up an investigation committee," it added.
