Anti-“Israel” Events Organized at Columbia University’s Law School
Several emails are circulated at Columbia University's Law School and other departments, in which students and inter-campus firms are announcing official anti-"Israel" events to be held at the university, the "IsraelMatzav" reported.
On March 27, American-"Israeli" human rights lawyer Emily Schaeffer, who is also member of the Yesh Din Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), stated that the "Israeli" human rights violations include cases of "torture, targeting killing, [and] the use of white phosphorus."
The Yesh Din NGO is almost entirely funded by foreign donations, the "Israeli" website Arutz Sheva reported, adding that Yesh Din also provided testimonies to the Goldstone Report against the "Israeli" occupation forces' human rights violations.
Moreover, the "Israeli" website added that the NGO's main mission is to oppose the ongoing violation of Palestinian human rights in the occupied Palestinian territories.... Through "documenting and disseminating accurate and up-to-date information about the systematic violation of human rights in the OPT, by raising public awareness of such violations, and by applying public and legal pressures on government agencies to end them."
The event to be held in the Columbia University's Law School is scheduled for March 29, with a title slogan, "Disruption of Normal life in the Occupied Palestinian Territory."
Students and figures to take part in the event are expecting to accuse the "Israeli" enemy of home demolition and illegal destruction on Palestinian lands. The will also "discuss issues affecting everyday life for Palestinians including: housing and zoning schemes, forced evictions and displacement, and discriminatory land policy," Arutz Sheva added.
