Wikileaks Document: US-led NATO Troops Operate Inside Syria
A document published by WikiLeaks on its website, revealed that "undercover US-led NATO forces are operating inside Syria against the Syrian government".
The released confidential email from an analyst working for the US-based intelligence firm Stratfor, stated that he attended a meeting in the Pentagon, in presence of several NATO officials from France and Britain in December of last year.
In the disclosed email, the analyst said he learned that US-led NATO troops are already training armed gangs on field in Syria.
"SOF [special operation forces] teams (presumably from the US, UK, France, Jordan and Turkey) are already on the ground, focused on recce [reconnaissance] missions and training opposition forces," the analyst said in the email.
Also, the Stratfor analyst added that "the idea ‘hypothetically' is to commit guerrilla attacks and assassination campaigns" in order to overthrow the Syrian government.
This revelation comes despite the Western military alliance claim that there is no deployment of forces in Syria.
In addition, Syria's armed gangs recently said they received military hardware "from France and Britain to attack government forces".
After escalating terrorist attacks by armed groups, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad said on Tuesday that "the people of Syria are determined to crush terrorist groups and pursue the reforms in the country".
Al-Assad has asserted that foreign powers and forces seek "to undermine the Syrian government", especially after measures exerted against his regime by the US, Britain, France and other regional countries such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey.
