Senior columnist at the New York Times, Thomas Friedman, described US President Barack Obama as possibly, the most pro-"Israel" president ever.
"The only question I have when it comes to President Obama and "Israel" is whether he is the most pro-"Israel" president in history, or just one of the most", Freidman wrote in his Tuesday article.

Moreover, Freidman recalled Obama's stances, in his interview with The Atlantic daily and in his statement at the AIPAC; a pro-"Israeli" lobby, saying that he [Obama] "offered the greatest support for "Israel" that any president could at this time".
"He redefines the Iran issue. He said - rightly - that it was not simply about "Israel's" security, but about US national security and global security", the US columnist stated Obama as claiming.

Also, in his article entitled ""Israel's" Best Friend", Friedman criticized "the "Israeli" sides" who are advocating a military strike on Iran, over its nuclear program, saying "I'd invite all those cherring to think about all the unintended and unanticipated consequences of the Iraq war or "Israel's" 1982 invasion of Lebanon".
"Israeli" diplomats and officials have long been calling for a military strike against Iran, to halt its nuclear program, which the West claims to seek military aims.

Unlike "Israel", Iran is a signatory of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, and has for long worked under the supervision of the UN nuclear watchdog. Iran has reasserted time after time that its nuclear program is strictly peaceful and only serves domestic technological and medical developments.
