Iranian state radio said Tehran will give the United States a model of the American surveillance drone captured by the Islamic Republic.

The report Tuesday said the toy model of the RQ-170 Sentinel stealth drone will be sent to the White House in response to a formal request from Washington last month asking Iran to return the aircraft that Tehran succeeded in downing over its territories in December.

"The model will be one eightieth the size of the original aircraft," the report clarified adding that "the models will also be sold on the Iranian marked for about 70,000 rials, or around $4."

US administration has asked Iran to return the drone which the Islamic republic detected over its eastern part some 140 miles (225 kilometers) from the Afghan border.

In a recent interview with the Fars news agency, Major-General Amir Ali Hajizadeh, commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force (IRIAF), said that Iran had intelligence indicating the drone would be crossing into its airspace.

"The UAV sustained minimal damage when it was shot down by the IRIAF," he added confirming that "it was controlled by ground stations in Afghanistan and America."

Hajizadeh further stated that the Revolutionary Guards' military experts "were well aware of the valuable technological information on the aircraft."
