US Trying to Press Resolute China on Iran

China disappointed US efforts on Wednesday to press it on Iran sanctions.China hopes "Iran and the IAEA will stress cooperation and earnestly carry out the safeguards and clarify pending issues in the Iranian nuclear program as soon as possible," said foreign ministry spokesman Liu Weimin as US Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner was holding meeting with Chinese leaders on the Iranian issue.
"To place one country's domestic law above international law and press others to obey is not reasonable," he added.
The International Atomic Energy Agency has announced that it will send inspectors to the Islamic Republic of Iran very soon.
The IAEA made the announcement on Tuesday, about a month after Iran renewed its invitation to the agency's inspectors to visit the country's nuclear sites.
