A news poll indicated on Wednesday that the unfavorable views of the US President Barack Obama exceeded their highest level since he took office in 2009.
The poll conducted by the Washington-based ABC news, said that the views, unfavorable for Obama hit 49%, while 48% viewed him favorably, according to Agence France Presse (AFP).

According to the agency, this is the first time the views unfavorable of Obama exceed his favorable ones.
Obama's popularity was probably affected by the recent economic crisis, which was accompanied with the protests condemning the administration's policies. Obama's administration's political affairs, internationally, were not very satisfying for their people as well, especially regarding the Middle Eastern affairs.

This popularity poll was made in light of the presidential campaigns taking part among candidates to the post.
The Republican candidate, Newt Gingrich however doesn't seem to have a very favorable view, for as Obama, those who did not favor him as a "president" reached 48%, while only 35% expressed a favorable view.
