Chicago “Occupied”, 130 Protesters Arrested
The US Police department in Chicago arrested 130 anti-capitalism protesters after they installed tents in the city's Grant Part.
AFP reported that the arrests were made early Sunday after some 1500 protesters refused to leave the park site after its closing time at 11:00 pm.
This is the second mass gathering held as part of the "Occupy Chicago" demonstrations, where previously the same week, another protest was organized during which 175 people were detained.
On his part, Occupy Chicago spokesman Joshua Kaunert affirmed that the protesters will come back to continue their demonstrations.
Occupy Chicago demonstrations come as part of the Occupy Wall Street Campaign which calls against the corporate system of the US administration.
The Occupy Wall Street campaign was launched on September 17, and now spread into many US states, in addition to many countries including Spain, Italy, Ireland, Australia, and others.
