Hizbullah Condemns Akkar Shooting

Condemning shooting at an Akkar Iftar banquet that led to the martyrdom of Sheikh Bassam al-Mahmud, Hizbullah issued the following statement Tuesday:

Hizbullah condemns the act of shooting at an Ifatr banquet in the Akkar town of Aayed few days ago that resulted in the martyrdom of Sheikh Bassam al-Mahmoud after he and some other attendants suffered from severe injuries.

Hizbullah expresses condolences to Martyr Sheikh Mahmoud's family and asks Almighty God to provide them with patience and fortitude.

Hizbullah views the criminal attack as a studied and programmed attempt to incite strife and raise tension in sake of our enemies' interests as well as in favor of those willing to sow discord between country's sons.

Hizbullah also slams the assault of Lebanese army troops and its leadership by some parties whom their exit from power made them away from any frame of wisdom and foresight, so they went on insulting the Lebanese army- the fence of the nation- which is the most important castle of sovereignty in this country.
