The crackdown in Bahrain shows no sign of relenting. More than 600 people have been detained and four have already died in police custody...

After targeting pro-democracy supporters including medical and legal professionals, students, and poets the Bahraini government is also after athletes.

More recently, over 150 athletes, coaches and referees have been suspended as part of the crackdown on pro-democracy protests and several athletes have been arrested, including four members of the national soccer team-Alaa Hubail and Mohammed Hubail, Abbas Ayaad and Mohamad Sayed Adnan.

The defendants faced charges ranging from calling for regime change to spreading photos to hurt the country's reputation.

Activists also said on Tuesday that Bahrain's Polytechnic University has dismissed around 47 students over political statements they had posted on Twitter and Facebook.

Meanwhile, a number of defendants alleged they have been tortured in detention and forced to sign confessions.

The Deputy Secretary General of Hizbullah, His Eminency, Sheikh Naim Qassem, expressed Hizbullah's satisfaction by the formation of the government and stressed on the adherence to the trio "The army, the people, and the resistance."
