Iranian Embassy Marks 22nd Anniversary of Islamic Revolution Leader’s Departure

The Iranian embassy in Lebanon marked on Wednesday the 22nd anniversary for the departure of the leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran Imam Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini (June 3 1989).
Commemorating the departure of the Imam, who led Iran's 1979 Islamic revolution, Lebanese politicians and officials gathered at the UNESCO Palace in Beirut where they announced commitment to the leader's values and principles.
The Iranian ambassador Ghadanfar Rukn Abadi was the first to address the ceremony, where he announced his country's full support to the Lebanese and Palestinian people in the face of the Israeli enemy. He noted that the "Israeli" enemy and his sponsors were concerned with the people's movements in the region, especially in Egypt.
He also pointed that the victory achieved by the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon in 2000 was the first Arab victory made thanks to the Resistance Mujahideen's sacrifices, and that the 2006 victory achieved defeated the invincible "Israeli" army and ended its scheme of dividing the region.
AMAL official Khalil Hamdan then delivered a speech on behalf of Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri. He emphasized that the Iranian revolution's victory entered the region in a new decade. He warned against seeking to create sedition in Syria, underscoring that stability in Lebanon and Syria is inter-related.
He pointed out that Lebanon was strong through its army, people and resistance.
As for the head of the Catholic Center for Information Abdo Abou Kessem, he delivered a speech on behalf of the Maronite Patriarch Beshara Rahi. He said that Imam Khomeni represented the hero with all the senses of the word, stressing the necessity of national higher interest and ignoring foreign interests.
On behalf of the Grand Mufti Sheikh Mohamad Rashid Qabbani, Sheikh Ahmad Darwish Kurdi delivered a word in which he said that the victory of the nation was very imminent and that Palestine will be liberated, reiterating "we will only accept our full right in the land of Palestinian and we will not accept any compromise."
At the end of the ceremony, Hizbullah Secretary General His Eminence Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah appeared via video-link to deliver a speech on this blessed memory, in which he highlighted the accomplishments of Leader of the Islamic Revolution and the lessons to learn from these victories. He then discussed the Lebanese and regional developments, stressing that all the Lebanese want a united state that fulfills their needs, and that all people Christians and Muslims should stand by the Palestinian people until they fulfill their right to return to their lands and sanctities.
