Desolating and Firing, Militants Kill 17 Syrian Civilians

Seventeen martyrs of Syrian civilians, police and security forces were shot dead on Friday by armed groups. The militants took advantage of citizens' gatherings in rural Idleb (north) and Homs (center) and shot them. They also attacked the police headquarters in Ariha and Deir al-Zour in order to smuggle criminal prisoners.

Moreover, the military source also announced the injury of six security forces during their fending off armed groups' attacks in rural Idleb where they desolated and burned a number of public institutions. 


Aiming at liberating criminal prisoners as well as hiding judicial files, the armed groups attacked police stations and judicial centers in some other cities. "After Friday prayers, some subversive armed groups took advantage of some dispersed demonstrations and the commitment of policemen to the aggravated instructions by the Ministry of Interior not to shoot in order to preserve the lives of citizens, these armed groups opened fire on police, vandalizing and burning some of public and private properties as well as some police units in various areas." An official source at the Interior Ministry explained.

The source added that "a number of terrorists insurgents, in the province of Idlib, burned the Directorate building which led to the wounding of eight policemen, including two officers," explaining that "they burned the government compound in the Ariha area as well as three cars belonging to the post office."


In the governorate of Deir al-Zour, terrorists attacked the Abu Kamal region where they burned four police cars, smashing four other cars and six motorcycles. The source added "a group of armed criminals shot from a pick-up car fire on security members which led to the injury of six police officers," pointing out that "among the wounded are a colonel, two majors, and one lieutenant as well as a row of officers and police."

The military source concluded that "the security situation returned to calmness in different Syrian regions."
