After his long speech on what he named the "Arab Spring" revolts, media information are shedding lights on the relation between US President Barack Obama and Zionist Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu who seem to be passing a collision course ahead of Oval Office talks Friday .
According to the "New York times" newspaper, "By all accounts, they do not trust each other. President Obama has told aides and allies that he does not believe that Mr. Netanyahu will ever be willing to make the kind of big concessions that will lead to a peace deal."
In his speech in the State Department, Obama viewed that "the borders of "Israel" and Palestine should be based on the 1967 lines with mutually agreed swaps, so that secure and recognized borders are established for both states."
For his part, Netanyahu has complained that "Obama has pushed "Israel" too far by saying that territorial lines in place before the 1967 Arab-"Israeli" war should be the basis for a peace deal." The paper added.
Mean while, the enemy's media launched a major attack on Obama's speech under the title "Obama snubs Netanyahu".
"Israeli Daily Ynet" clarified that the cold relationship between Obama and Netanyahu seems to have noted a new drop in temperature following Obama's speech, adding that tensions between Washington and Tel Aviv are at an all-time high".
On the same side, Maariv Daily quoted the commentator Ben Caspit as saying that "the speech was brought down on Netanyahu's head like a sledgehammer," describing it "an ambush planned in advance" by Washington.
Moving to Haaretz, one can read commentator Yossi Verter's words on "Obama's revenge: This is what American displeasure looks like, in retribution for two years of diplomatic inaction," he concluded.
