Syrian Officials: Conspiracy Targets Syria for Supporting Resistance, Confronting Hegemony Powers

Syrian High-ranked officials warned that conspirators wanted Friday to be a day to call for strife and sectarianism in order to nail Syria because of its support to the national resistance and its confrontation to the powers of hegemony.

The senior officials stressed that "confronting strife is a moral, religious and legitimate duty", reiterating the importance of working to prevent any attempts of sabotaging the country's and citizens' security.

During a meeting on Thursday, Minister of Awqaf (Religious Endowments) Mohammad Abdul Sattar Al Sayyed said "starting demonstration at mosques aims at undermining their value as worship places for spreading Islam and amity."

Meeting Islamic and Christian clergymen in Lattakia governorate on Thursday, the Minister added the conspirators aimed at turning Friday into a call for hatred and sectarianism, stressing the important role of clergymen in uprooting sedition targeting Syria's national unity and social cohesion.
He stressed that Syria overcame the crisis due to the awareness of its people and their rallying around their leadership.

As for Syria's Grand Mufti Ahmad Badreddin Hassoun, he stressed the importance of scholars' role in preserving the national unity, security and stability of Syria.
Meeting Muslim and Christian religious men in Al Raqqa Province, Hassoun pointed out that Syria is making progress in the reform process and improving the living conditions of citizens, reported SANA.

He added that confronting sedition is a moral and religious commitment to preserve the freedom of Syria and the dignity of its citizens.

The Grand Mufti noted that the national unity and tolerance have made the Syrian people stand together in the face of those who want to undermine the Syrian unity.
