Lebanese Member of Parliament Walid Jumblatt urged Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri to follow up the False Witnesses' issue till the end.

In an interview with Al Jazeera TV, Jumblatt said that each political step leads to another, and now after his visit to Syria, PM Hariri should take over the false witnesses issue in order to reveal the truth in front of everyone.

MP Jumblatt added that the investigations were used to accuse Syria, in the same way Hizbullah is being accused, stressing that the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) might aim at triggering incitements.

"If Hizbullah was accused then the tension will increase not only within the party, but also within a great number of people, and incitement will again be triggered", MP Walid Jumblatt referred.

Jumblatt also considered that one of STL's aims is to make Lebanon a chaos zone like what is happening in Iraq, Bahrain, and Yemen.

Head of Progressive Socialist party added that the way out of this crisis is through prosecuting false witnesses, and people that misled the truth, adding that Lebanon should stress on the international community that Lebanon's national security is more important than any indictment.

Jumblatt affirmed that the sectarian tension does not make justice any good, calling for serious measures in discussing the STL, and especially the indictment which is expected to be issued against Hizbullah.
