As "Israel" is trying its best to prevent in any way the sailing of the Lebanese humanitarian aid ships to Gaza, "Mariam" has delayed its sailing for almost a week, due to Cyprus's refusal to receive it in its waters.

"Mariam" was supposed to sail Sunday night, where it would head towards Cyprus, and later on switch sail to the impoverished enclave.

Instead, "Mariam" organizers held a press conference on Tripoli port Sunday in order to present a firm and rightful stance.

Speakers at the press conference, whether organizers, funders, or participants, emphasized that "Mariam" was and will always be ready to set sail any time, urging international community to consider Gazans who need basic life aids.

It seems that "Israel" gained some time after postponing "Mariam", in order to look into ways to deal with the ship in case it "seriously" sets sail towards Gaza.

"Israeli" Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a meeting Sunday with his senior ministers, the septet, in order to discuss the "Mariam" ship issue and to prevent its sailing by -any means- possible.

"Israel" on its part has been working "behind scenes" pressuring international community including Cyprus and Greece, so they would not allow "Mariam" to set sail.
However, examining the solidarity and will of participants, "Mariam" is more likely to be delayed than canceled.

Rima Farah, "Mariam" Organizing Committee spokesperson, said during the press conference that the trip was not canceled, it was only delayed and it will soon be heading towards Gaza, stressing that the ship has a humanitarian message is has to deliver to the world.

"Mariam", named after Virgin Marry, Prophet Jesus' Mother, symbolized patriotism and coexistence of women of different religions, in Lebanon and from the whole world, were participants from the US, Turkey, Egypt, and many other regions will be taking part, hoping to make a difference.
