British Prime Minister David Cameron, described the Gaza strip as a prison camp for its 1.5 million Palestinian residents, and called on "Israel" to ease the siege, the Guardian newspaper reported.

According to the London-based paper, David Cameron was embroiled in an angry diplomatic row with "Israel" after his remarks.

"The situation in Gaza has to change," the paper quoted PM Cameron telling businessmen during his visit to Turkey on Tuesday.

"Humanitarian goods and people must flow in both directions. Gaza cannot and must not be allowed to remain a prison camp," he added.

Moreover, he condemned "Israel's" deadly raid against the Gaza aid flotilla, in which nine Turkish activists were killed, saying it is "completely unacceptable".

"Israeli" officials have been recently canceling their flights to the United Kingdom for fear of being arrested for committing war crimes.

PM Cameron's remarks were strongly denounced by internal and "Israeli" officials claiming that the PM should have mentioned the Hamas "control" over the strip, and "Israel's" susceptible security.
