Jumblatt: Flotilla Attack Proves That "Israel" Does Not Need Excuses
MP Walid Jumblatt, Leader of Progressive Socialist Party, expressed that the "Israeli" brutality in attacking Freedom Flotilla aid convoy to Gaza is proof of its rejection of all international laws and agreements.
In an editorial published Tuesday in his party's affiliated Al Anbaa weekly, Jumblatt said that such an attack demands a firm response from international community in order to put an end to excessive unacceptable "Israeli" violations.
Leader of PSP addressed what he called "some silly Lebanese sides", which call for neutrality and consider that the Resistance's weapons are an excuse for "Israel" to attack Lebanon. Jumblatt further noted that today we see new proof that "Israel" does not need excuses to conduct any attack.
Jumblatt also noted that if desire and political intent is present, the international community is able to put an end to "Israel", like what happened in the final statement of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.
MP Jumblatt stressed that this challenge imposed by "Israel's" attack on the world, demands a strict international stance to put an end to "Israel's" constant violation aggressions.
On the Lebanese level, Jumblatt referred to some of who were planning to restore tension in Lebanon. He also noted that what started with PM Saad Hariri's trip to the US and his defense of Lebanon's sovereignty against "Israeli" aggressions is of positive reflection, coinciding with the efforts of reconstructing the Lebanese-Syria relations.
MP Jumblatt also pointed out the Lebanese President's efforts in producing a suitable atmosphere to achieve national dialogue in order to discuss the issue of defense plan in confronting the "Israeli" enemy.
