Several Dead, Some 100 Injured in German Train Collision

German police reported Tuesday that several people died after two trains collided in the southern state of Bavaria, adding that about 100 people were also injured.

In further details, a police spokesman mentioned that "two trains crashed head on."

"There are about 100 injured, scores of people seriously injured and several dead," he said.

The accident took place at 6:48 am local time near Bad Aibling in the southeastern corner of Germany, soon after rescue teams arrived at the site.
