Syrian Army Takes Full Control of Mleiha Town Outside Damascus

Syrian government forces have taken full control of Mleiha town southeast of the capital of Damascus, a gain that would deal a blow to rebels who had held it for more than a year.

The town of Mleiha lies on the edge of the eastern Ghouta region near Damascus airport, a mix of farmland and small towns that has formed a base for rebel militants.
