#Iraq Army Takes last #Kurd-Held Area of #Kirkuk Province

Iraqi forces clashed with Kurdish fighters Friday and retook control of the last sector of Kirkuk province in northern Iraq under the control of the Kurds, a security official said.

"The army, police and counter-terrorism forces entered the center of the Altun Kupri region," just 50 kilometers from the Iraqi Kurdish capital of Irbil, said the source, asking not to be named.
