Not always we find much information about our beloved martyrs, yet even if humble but extremely precious and valuable.

Tribute to a Martyr: Shahid Hani Ali Taha

Not all martyrs are from the very prominent July war that was Lebanon's latest victory in its ongoing battle with the "Israeli" enemy, but the fleet of martyrs was first incepted by noble fighters, years and years ago and that is why there is lack of information or effects sometimes.
Earlier martyrs of the 80s and 90s, even if did not achieve a blasting victory that amazed the world, but they were those who paved the way to what the Resistance has arrived to today.
If it were not for brave martyrs, brothers under the covenant of God the Almighty, things would have been very different and people would not have been enjoying a descent life but rather would have been living a life under tyrants' mercy.

The martyr of this month whose blessed and chaste soul went up to the heavens is Yasser- or that was his Jihadi name. In these blessed days of Karbala, the memory of the master of all martyrs coincides with a dedication and remembrance of one of the brave and selfless martyrs, Hani Ali Taha.

It is Karbala these martyrs extracted precious lessons from, it is the original school of these martyrs that taught them a dignified lifestyle, that in which they learned that greediness is poverty, generosity is prosperity, moderation is wisdom, serving god's worshipers and helping brothers and sisters is a blessing, self sacrifice is the means to keep justice and truth alive.
Shahid Hani is one of the resistance fighters who were selfless and gave all they have for the well being of others, and in the service of Allah.

Here, in this report, an interview with Hani's mother and brother, as well as his biography and excerpts from his will.

I knocked the door behind which was complete silence. An old woman in her seventh decade opened the door and welcomed me warmly with a hug and a smile. Her eyes glowed and upon hearing Hani's name, tears ran down her cheeks and she heaved a sigh saying: "I miss him, but I am very proud of him."

As we sat down, I asked her to tell me more about Hani, what was he like?
Hajje Um Mahmoud recalled saying: "No matter what I try to say about Hani I would not pay him gratitude. He was an obedient son. He was very calm and taciturn. Since he came saw light and grew up, he had a strong passion for the resistance."

The day he was martyred... I felt it, after all I am a mother and a mother's heart can feel. He was martyred in an operation he conducted in Marj A'youn with three other resistance fighters."
She showed me pictures of Hani when he was still young, as well as a photo of him with the three companions of his journey.

Hani had a friend, a soul mate who kept all his secrets, they spent so much time together and they were more than brothers. They were very faithful to each other and so they stayed until Hani's martyrdom and they will forever be.

I am still keeping a pair of pants for Hani. It is the only thing I am left with as each of his friends wanted to have something to keep for memory.

Ahmad, his young brother, recalls memories from the past. He laughs and says: "Hani was older than me; I used to give him a hard time." He laughs again and continues: "I always wanted to hang out with him and his friends but I couldn't always since I was still young and they had things to do."

"Hani was very patient with me, he was very nice to me too. Since his early years he was a strong believer and was religious. He really had god manners."

After a moment of silence he went on and said: "He loved school and was a hardworking student, but he had to drop out of school due to financial difficulties we suffered from as our father had passed away."

Hani used to work in a printing house after school, so that he could pay school fees but then things became difficult."

Ahmad continued: "I recall an incident imprinted in my mind, it was Eid time and we were still very young. I really wanted to buy new shoes but as I said earlier there were financial difficulties, and so my mother could not buy us shoes. I got really upset, he approached me and patted my back and told me not to be upset as he will buy me the best shoes when he grows a little older and starts working. He said he wanted to take care of me.

Biography:

Martyr Hani Ali Taha was born in Mais Al Jabal in South Lebanon on the first of September 1975. It was destined that he soon became an orphan at the beginning of his second decade after his father died, unfortunately, he was unable to finish his educational journey and dropped out of school in the intermediate level, since lack of financial capabilities impeded his pursue of academic education.

Shahid Hani, was well known for his precision and delicacy at work since the very beginning as he joined the Resistance.

He was always assigned for tough operations and missions as he was known for boldness, courage and competence. Shahid Hani attained martyrdom in the famous Marj A'youn operation in 1994.

The Marj A'youn operation was conducted by Shahid Hani and a number of other brave Resistance fighters. They had set an ambush for a Zionist convoy that was passing on the Marj A'youn-Khiam route in the depth of the occupied South Lebanon, at that time as the convoy was heading to the military central post of the occupation army in Marj A'youn barrack.

Upon the arrival of the convoy, the Mujahideen raided the "Israeli" enemy soldiers with their weapons and engaged in a battle within a distance no more than 20 meters.
The enemy had directly called for massive back up as commandos units and Mirkava tanks arrived from the nearby enemy posts, in addition to helicopters that bombed the whole scene of the operation.
The Mujahideen had fought audaciously and without fear despite their humble capabilities, until Shahid Hani Ali Tahi and two other Resistance fighters were martyred.

Shahid Hani had left a will in which he gave his beloved ones, whether friends or family members, some recommendations. Here are some excerpts of his will:

"To my fellow brothers, the mujahidin":

"My dear fellow brothers the Mujahideen of the Islamic Resistance, I recommend that you hold fast to obeying Allah and following the lead and teachings of Ahl Al Beit (the chaste family of Prophet Muhammad PBUH).

I urge you to get to learn more about our Imam Mahdi (May Allah hasten his appearance).
We should abide by Imam Khomeini's saying: "Israel" should be eliminated from all existence" as we know very well, "Israel" which claims to be invincible is nothing before the steely fists and bravery of the Mujahideen as well as the blood of the martyrs.

I urge you to adhere to order, and abiding by your duties; keep piety to Alllah the Almighty. You are the followers of Ahl Al beit, you sacrifice yourselves selflessly as you stay on the borders without sleep or fear or hesitation, to defend this Ummah and defend its freedom and dignity.
I address these words to the brothers I lived with and I loved so much, stick to the path of martyrdom, the route of attaining eternal happiness.

To my mother who raised me up on the love of Jihad and sacrifice for the sake of Allah, oh "mother", the best word I ever said!

Mother, do not cry for me, if you really have to cry then let that be for Sayyed Al Shuhada (master of martyrs) Imam Hussein (PBUH), and be patient, for I will be safe and happy within the mercy of Allah the Almighty.

To my sister: I recommend you to keep your hijab, and obey Allah and keep your pledge to the Almighty, creator of all.
To my dear older brother: the brother I respect and love so much, the brother who taught me God's obedience.
I ask you to stick to this path dear brother, as this world and all its treasures are worthless in comparison to Allah's obedience and pleasing Him.

Your brother, always needy to Allah,
Hani Ali Taha (Yasser)

"Think not of those who are slain in God's way as dead. Nay, they live, finding their sustenance in the presence of their Lord"

All work as one in their labor to meet God the Exalted.
