Nour Rida, 11-11-2009

They are the men of God, some are women too... some are martyrdom operatives, others martyrs of battle...among them, you find doctors, architects, scholars, leaders, not to mention civilians too..

Those sacrifice themselves for the sake of the home, land, family and dignity, carry the load of a whole nation and fight audaciously and stand in the face of the rapist enemy. They keep their promise and oath to God, either completing their vows and attain martyrdom, or await until their time arrives, and they stand still... they never change.

They are like us, live among us... but each and every one is unique in his own way...

Today is the 11th of November, and for those who do not know, it is a day imprinted in the memory... in that of the people of dignity as well as that of the enemy.
Today is Martyr's day; in commemoration of the first self sacrifice operation that was executed by martyr Ahmad Qassir in 1982.

With the self sacrifice operation executed by the first martyrdom operative Ahmed Qassir, against the headquarters of the "Israeli" military governor in Tyre city on November 11 of 1982, the fleet of martyrdom operatives and righteous martyrs embarked the Islamic Resistance cavalcade.

It is from this point, that this day reflects the embodiment of "Martyr's Day."

"Martyr's Day" remains a day of confirmation of the covenant and the promise, as they take shelter in the shade of the blessed Ayah "Think not of those who are slain in God's way as dead. Nay, they live, finding their sustenance in the presence of their Lord" [Holy Koran 3:169].

Martyrdom is the beginning of life, not its end, and martyrs are a group of mujahidin from top of the pyramid to the bottom of the base, "Among the Believers are men who have been true to their covenant with God: of them some have completed their vow (to the extreme), and some (still) wait: but they have never changed (their determination) in the least" [Holy Koran, 33:23], all work as one in their labor to meet God the Exalted.

These are the Soldiers of the Islamic Resistance, they have taken the path of martyrdom eager for the explicit victory, they regard martyrdom a forever renewable call, and they engage the enemy at every location, until the victory banners of liberation are raised stained by the fragrant blessed blood.

Thus, such a resistance is found to stand like a tree with roots deep in the earth and branches penetrating the sky it fights until full and complete liberation.

The Islamic Resistance movement with such inclination and such great faith cannot be defeated, its triumph is inevitable, the battle is endless and the fighters are determined and vigorous. This fight for the cause and for God will go on, whether with the rifle, or with a pen, a word, an image, even with bare hands.

‘Martyr's Day' means a lot for many people, especially families of the martyrs with whom the tales of martyrs and heroism are renewed.

These words are the creed of Martyr Ahmad Qassir and all the other members of the resistance fleet. 27 years on Ahmed Qassir's martyrdom operation mark almost three decades of devotion of ancestor of resistance operations and his descendants. These words were certainly to be said and to precede the series, and how else could it be, when this is about the precursor of resistance action and the first heroic achievements as well as those who followed his lead.

Through this little window on our site, and in revival and appreciation of the martyrs of the Resistance honorable fleet, we will be providing the series "Martyrs of Freedom".

"Martyrs of Freedom"... A series on the honorable Martyrs of the Islamic Resistance since that very day of Qassir's martyrdom operation and up to date.
