Lebanese cleric Sayyed Mohammad Hussein Fadlallah told Kuwaiti daily Al-Rai on Friday that the crisis between Egypt and Hizbullah, a reference to the alleged Hizbullah cell found operating in Egypt, was purely political and had no legal grounds.

"Some are making efforts to liberate Palestine, and some want to be liberated from the Palestinian cause," he said, adding that some Arab parties see the existence of the Resistance as a criminal offense and considered negotiations with ‘Israel' the solution.

He said that the Shiaa in the Arab community were only calling to be treated as others and denied that the Resistance in Lebanon, referring to Hizbullah, was a state-within-state.

The Lebanese Armed Forces alone could not confront the ongoing ‘Israeli' offensive attacks, and everyone should realize the "facts," Fadlallah said.

Sayyed Mohammad Hussein Fadlallah also said during Friday prayers that the great number of ‘Israeli' espionage cells discovered in Lebanon indicated that the Mossad had internal access large enough to undermine Lebanon's security and political situation.
He added that this made the country an open arena for regional and international developments, and called on all citizens "to be a sergeant and a guard on the spies' activities especially in the South, who were deceived by the enemy."

He called on the security forces to address the problem, because "there is no political stability without stability on the security level."

Sayyed Fadlallah also criticized the 1960 electoral law that was currently in use, which, he said made the "Lebanese people nothing more than sectarian quotas."
