Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif referred to the failed attempts of western states to get an anti-Iran resolution approved at Security Council, saying whatever happened in the UN Monday night was a nasty show in support of the country invading Yemen.
He further noted that drafting of the anti-Iran resolution in the UN Security Council's last night session by the US and some other countries reveals the depth of their rudeness.
"Such measures are in fact efforts to cover up crimes they and their allies are committing," he said upon arrival in Sofia, Bulgaria as part of his tour of Eastern Europe.
"Unfortunately, we witness the massacre of thousands of innocent people in Yemen as a result of Saudi-led attacks on the country," he said.
A human catastrophe is happening in Yemen, as statistics show over one million Yemeni people are suffering from cholera, Zarif said, noting that such events have in fact been created by the US.
Meanwhile, Zarif wrote on his twitter account that the US- Britain attempts in the Security Council to cover up their complicity in the Saudi and UAE three-year war crimes in Yemen were failed.
Since the beginning, Iran has called for ceasefire, supplying relief aid, dialogue and inclusive government, he said.
Britain in its proposed resolution presented to the UN Security Council accused Iran of inability to prevent dispatch of arms to Yemen, which was left unapproved, as Russia vetoed it.
