Putin in Tehran: Syria on Top of Agenda
Local Editor
Russian President Vladimir Putin is due to arrive in Iran on Wednesday for a trilateral summit that also includes Azerbaijan.
On top of Putin's agenda will be discussing the conflict in Syria and energy cooperation with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and Supreme Leader His Eminence Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei.
Commenting on the matter, the Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told a conference call with reporters on October 31 that "Syria-related issues will be on the agenda of the Russian-Iranian bilateral talks."
Economic cooperation is likely to top the agenda as well, specifically the completion of a rail link along the North-South Transport Corridor that runs through Iran and Azerbaijan and connects Russia to India.
