A British soldier was murdered by two suspected extremists who attempted to behead and disembowel him as he left a barracks in Woolwich, London.
The soldier was ambushed by the men as he left the base in Woolwich, south-east London, who attacked him and then dragged his body into the middle of the road to pose for photographs while standing over him waving a cleaver and a gun, according, The Independent UK mentioned.

The soldier had left the barracks by car, but witnesses indicated that he was rammed while walking along the road in a pre-arranged ambush, before being attacked.

British PM David Cameron cut short a meeting with French President Francois Hollande, and is to chair a meeting with the emergency committee Cobra, as police and security services investigated whether these two men were driven by a political stance and whether the act was a terrorist act.
Cameron insisted Britain would "never buckle" in the face of terrorist attacks as he condemned the soldier's murder, which he described as "absolutely sickening".

With one of the killer's hands bloodied and carrying a cleaver, he apologized that women had to witness this act, addressing the camera of a bystander. "You people will never be safe. Remove your governments - they don't care about you."
The police arrived at the scene surprisingly 20 minutes after the incident occurred, which brought up many criticisms of the slow response of police, putting civilians at risk.

The killer and his accomplice are both apparently British citizens, speaking in an English accent as the video revealed.
When the police arrived at the scene, police shot them, and are currently treating them as suspects in separate hospitals.
"They were hacking at him, chopping him, cutting him. These two guys were crazed. They were just animals. They dragged him from the pavement and dumped his body in the middle of the road and left his body there," a witness identified as James told The Independent.

On a similar note, the Muslim Council of Britain slammed this act, stating, "This is a truly barbaric act that has no basis in Islam and we condemn this unreservedly. Our thoughts are with the victim and his family."
For his part, the British MP George Galloway responded to the bizarre machete attack with a post on Twitter about UK foreign policy.
"This sickening atrocity in London is exactly what we are paying the same kind of people to do in Syria," he wrote.

Galloway, who opposes his country's decision to support some armed groups in Syria, seems to be arguing that these insurgents are akin to the machete attackers.
Since the tweet, Galloway has been engaged in a number of arguments on Twitter. He stated that both Syrian rebels and the Woolwich attackers are "al-Qaeda followers. Sickening murderers. The kind we arm and pay for in Syria."

When one Twitter user responded, "I don't think we go up to random people, run them over, then behead them," Galloway shot back, "no, we pay al-Qaeda to do so. In Syria."
Galloway refers to the notorious al-Qaeda-affiliated al-Nusra Front, among other armed groups in Syria, who have a record of atrocities including the recent video published on the Internet about an insurgent in Syria who cuts off a Syrian soldier's organs and eats his heart. Other atrocities include training 13-year-old children on decapitation.

Galloway has a history of strongly opposing the UK's foreign policy, having remarked back in 2003, "Why don't Arabs do something for the Iraqis?" he asked. "Where are the Arab armies? We wonder when the Arab leaders wake up? When are they going to stand by the Iraqi people?"
He's also referred to Syrian President Bashar Assad's regime as "the last castle of Arab dignity."
