Iranian Official: Liberating DeirEzzor was the Final Strike against Daesh in Syria

Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani said the liberation of Deir Ezzor represented the final strike against Daesh Takfiri terrorist group in Syria.

Speaking to the al-Wefaq Newspaper, Shamkhani stressed the strategic influence of the success of those operations, especially the important position of Deir Ezzor on both geopolitic and economic levels. He further added that this boosted the axis of resistance, the true front against terrorism.

"Besides gradual cleaning of the Syrian-Iraqi borders from terror, the grip will be tight on terrorist groups."
