In retaliation to crimes committed against women and children in Iran’s Ahvaz, the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) fired a wave of rockets on Monday at terrorists backed by the US and their regional agents. The strike dubbed "Muharram", employed missiles as well as attack drones.

The rapid response of the Islamic Republic surprised observers and global media outlets. Many were taken back by the extensive damage caused to terrorist positions. These successfully achieved objectives essentially carried a clear message to the enemies that Iran will not stand idly by in the face of attacks.

According to Iranian MP and member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Islamic Shura Council, Abu al-Fadel Hassan Biki, “the first message is that the Iranian military and security forces monitor terrorist movements at any point in the world and know where they are based.”

"Therefore, if the terrorists wanted to take any action, the Islamic Republic can find and eliminate them,” the Iranian lawmaker told Al-Ahed in an exclusive interview on Tuesday.

"The second point is that given its good defense capabilities, Iran can target the terrorists' gathering points with its precision rockets, and whoever wants to harm Iran's national security will be devastated by it," he explained.

Biki also directed a message to Washington, underscoring Tehran’s defense capabilities against terrorist outfits that enjoy foreign support.

"The third message is addressed to the Americans who are now based in two areas the north and northwest Syria and provide tactical, logistical, material, intelligence and military support to terrorists,” he added. “We can assert that the Islamic Republic can defend itself and not make any remarks about any country supporting these terrorists."

The Iranian official went on to applaud his country’s security forces, which confirmed “to the heroic Iranian people that …[they] are pursuing all these terrorist rats who are toying with security and targeting innocent citizens and will eliminate these groups."

“They should not play with the lion's tail," Biki said, stressing that the Islamic Republic is not the Iran during the days of the Shah and stands firm against the US and Saudi Arabia.

"Iran can help all countries in the face of terrorism," Biki concluded. "Iran always emphasizes that good relations with neighboring countries are among its top priorities."
