Iran’s Qassemi: Nuclear Deal Still Standing
Local Editor
Spokesman for Iran's Foreign Ministry Bahram Qassemi stated that "With regards to the mechanism wisely-planned by the negotiating team, the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action [JCPOA] is still strong despite US' pullout fom it unilaterally."
'The one that doesn't feel well is [US President] Donald Trump who couldn't stand the JCPOA and quit it, and today everyone except the US is trying to safeguard the deal,' Qassemi added.
Answering a question about the EU proposed package to Iran, he said: "After the US's illegal exit from Iran Deal and our 4+1 partners' interest in keeping the deal, some talks started between Iran, the EU and China and Russia on how to keep the deal without the US."
Qassemi further stressed that one shouldn't make a mistake and name only the three EU countries and ignore the other two; all the five countries are committed to it and, thanks to their presence in the JCPOA, they have responsibility to keep it.
The package to be proposed to Iran should be one agreed upon by all the five countries, and nothing can be considered without Russia and China.
