North Korea Firmly Stands for Denuclearization of Korean Peninsula

The Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has returned to Beijing from the North Korean capital after his 2-day visit where he met with his North Korean counterpart, Foreign Minister Ri Yong-ho.

"China commends the recent positive changes on the Korean Peninsula. We fully support North Korea's commitment to the goal of de-nuclearization," Wang said in Pyongyang, according to a statement by the Chinese Foreign Ministry.

The visit is the first official high-level meeting between Beijing and Pyongyang since the Inter-Korean summit on April 27, where the leaders of the two Koreas have agreed to an ambitious agenda of peace and denuclearization on the Korean Peninsula.
