Lebanese Army Capture Notorious Arsal Figure Mostafa Al-Hujairi

The Lebanese Army captured the notorious figure of Arsal Mostafa al-Hujairi Wednesday in a covert dawn raid in the north Lebanon town.
The operation was carried out by the Army's Intelligence Branch during the early hours after careful surveillance and previous failed attempts to arrest the wanted suspect, a statement from the Army said.
Also known as Abu Taqiyya, Hujairi was immediately brought in for interrogation to the Army's Yarze headquarters, Voice of Lebanon radio reported.
Hujairi was implicated in the case of the Lebanese servicemen that were held hostage by Daesh and Jabhat Fatah al-Sham - formerly known as the Nusra Front - after the terrorist groups briefly overran Arsal in 2014.
When the terrorists withdrew from the town they took over 30 Army and police personnel with them. Hujairi reportedly played the role of a mediator between the Lebanese government and Jabhat Fatah al-Sham.
In 2014, he was sentenced in absentia to life in prison with hard labor after being found guilty of belonging to the Al-Qaeda-affiliated Jabhat Fatah al-Sham.
