The escalation of targeting Awamia, which has been besieged since more than 70 days, was accompanied with an inclusive curfew inside the town and the neighboring areas.

Awamia woke up on Wednesday to the heavy military campaign by Saudi regime forces during which military vehicles, destroyers and heavy artillery bombed almost all the area, besieging all of Awamia's entrances and exits. All of this takes places as part of the alleged pretext of ‘developing' the heritage site of Awamia, which is still populated indeed by the town's residents.

The military armored vehicles deployed to all entrances of the besieged Awamia started bombing the neighborhoods randomly, backed by Special Security Forces that have been stationed in the place weeks earlier.

The developments came as dozens of Shia activists are feared to face execution by the Saudi regime at any moment.
